Geoff Langan, one of the directors of Orbitance, has now qualified as a commerical drone pilot, obtaining his permission to fly from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The method of obtaining a commercial drone licence is long and arduous. The preparation work included two days of personal tuition followed by the creation of a 45 page operation manual, covering all aspects of air safety and air law. Therein followed a practical exam with a qualified assessor. Finally, the CAA certified the submission and issued a Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO)! Hard work but well worth the effort.
